Yak wool scarf / blanket

dimensions approximately 200x100 cm, tolerance +/- 10cm. They are handcrafted and hand-woven, dyed with vegetable dyes, each one unique.

The Yak, a sacred animal in Tibet, also known as the Tibetan ox, is a large mammal that lives on the Tibetan/Himalayan plateau, used by humans since ancient times both as a working animal and for its meat, milk, and wool. The fiber obtained from its hair, which it naturally sheds at the beginning of spring, is an excellent yarn for making clothing items such as blankets and scarves.

These scarves / blankets are incredibly soft and unique. They will keep you warm throughout the cold season, and a scarf is an essential accessory for any outfit!

Given their size, they can also be used at the foot of a double bed or to completely cover a single bed. They will also be an indispensable accessory as a sofa throw to keep you warm while watching TV.

Tests on yak fiber have shown that it is warmer than other wools. The fiber diameter ranges between 16 and 20 microns, making its softness comparable to that of cashmere.

As the animal naturally sheds its hair, it is not subjected to violent or painful practices, making this product free from animal cruelty. By purchasing this product, you will also be supporting the economy of small villages that depend on this.

N.B. This fabric can be hand-washed with cold water and a neutral detergent, without soaking and rinsing with running water. DO NOT wring.

Material: yak wool / Himalayan wool / acrylic

N.B. This scarf is sold as defective due to small stains as shown in the attached photos.
